Hi, I’m Josh.

Here’s some of what I’ve learned after 20 years in healthcare advertising.

  • A curious mind that thinks ahead is the ultimate cheat code. Doesn’t matter if it’s building a pharma brand from strategy to launch, connecting with clients at a pitch, helping colleagues find their way, or the 18,000 other tasks we juggle at any given point. Thinking different and with foresight delivers the most impactful results

  • When I was 10 years old, I got my first job as a paperboy for the Brockton Enterprise. I didn’t know it then, but delivering tens of thousands of newspapers for 6 years gave me the blueprint for much of my future success: be on time; give a damn; treat people with respect, even if they don't return the favor; be mentally and literally quick on your feet; the customer is never wrong, but they’re not always right

  • There’s nothing like the intensity, collaboration, and learning opportunities of pitches. And the best win is always the next one

  • Most challenges are, at their core, communication challenges

  • While doctors love data and science, they’re still human beings who respond to emotional storytelling

  • Craft is everything. But it’s also a painfully overused word that just means, details make the difference

  • Beware of the “leader” with all the answers. They’re usually full of shit

  • Listening and asking questions are wildly underrated skills. But you still have to know how to command a room

  • There’s no stopping change. Embrace it. Organizationally, AI, whatever. But that doesn’t mean we need to forget what got us here
